Architect graduate of the Institut Supérieur d’Architecture Saint-Luc de Bruxelles, Inessa Hansch founded her office in Paris in 2007. Professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design since 2014, she leads a workshop dedicated to the development of public spaces leveraged for its power to structure the land. Her practice works at varied scales, with projects ranging from furniture and buildings to urban design. Following the same and unique purpose she explores the capacity of all construction to initiate the consciousness of space. Often collaborating with landscape architects involved from the origin of the project, Hansch aims to anchor each built form in its environment to reveal the specific character and true potential of the site. Her approach of space structure is the subject of a long artistic collaboration with the painter Susanne Kühn with whom she realized numerous tridimensional works.
